STATEMENT:
Given the existential threats to Armenia’s independence and sovereignty, which could turn our country into a transit zone controlled by Turkey and Azerbaijan, and taking into consideration Nikol Pashinyan’s consistent and persistent acts against the national interests of Armenia, which are factually anti-constitutional, anti-democratic and defeatist, have resulted in political division and societal paralysis of Armenia. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), placing great value on the possibility of consolidation of our society, decided to support the “Sacred Movement” headed by Archbishop Galstanyan with the following goals and intentions:
1) To create an atmosphere for dialogue between different political factions in Armenia to establish constitutionalism, protect human rights and improve the internal political life of the country.
2) To unite in a non-partisan format, consolidate the people, remove Nikol Pashinyan’s catastrophically evil regime from power and form an anti-crisis transitional government.
3) To develop and implement an emergency plan to prevent Armenia from turning into West Azerbaijan and organize Armenia’s defense against repeat aggression by Azerbaijan.
4) To ensure a just resolution of the Artsakh problem based on international law and with international oversight for their safety, facilitate the return of the forcably deported Armenian populaton of Artsakh.
The unprecedented crowd of people, at the Republic Square on May 9th, demonstrated the potential for people’s unity, justifying the NDA’s support for the “Sacred Movement”.
Adhering to the above mentioned goals and intentions, the NDA has consistently and actively supported this consolidation and unification through words and deeds. During the summer months, the NDA provided numerous recommendations for institutional organization of the movement, for improving the perception and acceptability within the population and for cultivating a favorable opinion of the movement in the international community.
Regrettably, despite our persistant efforts, our proposals were ignored and opportunities were missed, which recently resulted in certain unacceptable manifestations within the movement.
In light of the above, the NDA does not see fit to continue its further cooperation with the «Sacred Movement».
